New fees are now available for the Dance • Opera • Theatre (DOT) Engagement Policy online. The rates, which take effect immediately, reflect a 3% increase to general fees, as well as defined increases to per diem and mileage rates. Equity is pleased to announce the Stratford Addendum to the Canadian Theatre Agreement has been ratified. Thank you to all who voted! A complete list of the changes is available here. An updated version of the agreement will be available soon. The ratified terms take effect immediately, retroactive to December 1, 2024.

This past year, Equity successfully renegotiated the Canadian Theatre Agreement and Equity-Second City Agreement, the Stratford Addendum to the CTA, and the Canadian Opera Agreement with the Canadian Opera Company.
2025 will be focused on negotiating the Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, Opera, and Vancouver Opera agreements, completing the National Arts Centre Music Department Agreement and National Arts Centre Special Events Agreement, releasing the INDIE 3.0 and a new Dance Opera Theatre Policy (DOT).
Equity members are encouraged to contribute to the negotiation or review process. Suggestions for improvements should be shared with Executive Director, Arden R. Ryshpan, by email at agreements@caea.com.
After 17 years of dedicated service to Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, Executive Director Arden R. Ryshpan has announced that she will be retiring May 30, 2025.
