Equity’s national membership includes nearly 6,000 performers, directors, choreographers, fight directors, intimacy directors, and stage managers working in theatre, opera, and dance across the country.
Being an Equity member means standing with a community that has championed the rights of Canadian artists for over 50 years — and actively working to create better opportunities for yourself and the artists who follow.
Equity is built on the active participation of its members. From serving on Council and committees to participating in meetings, votes, and negotiations, members help shape the policies and priorities that guide the Association’s future.
Whether you choose to volunteer, attend a workshop, or simply stay informed about issues affecting the profession, there are many ways to get involved and connect with your Association at a level that feels right for you.
Log in to your myEquity account to view Council reports and meeting activity, submit a Request for Council Action, or request to attend a Council meeting as an observer.
Committees are where the majority of Equity Council’s work is done — creating resource materials, developing educational initiatives and more — to deliver on the Association’s objectives.
