Councillors serve as volunteers and are not paid for their service, although reasonable out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed. In recognition of the time commitment involved, annual dues are waived for sitting Councillors. Councillors who wish to decline this benefit may do so by informing the Council President.
Because of their additional responsibilities, Council Officers receive honoraria set by Council.
