Equity is a democratic organization run by artists, for artists, with members shaping the direction of the Association through elected governance and bylaws.
Equity’s Constitution & Bylaws express all of the rules of the Association, as determined by members. This includes the governance and structure of Equity as well as the rights and responsibilities of its members.
Equity’s governance model places primary responsibility on the members of Council to establish the Association’s organizational objectives — from finances to communications to negotiations and everything in-between. Equity staff are responsible for achieving those objectives within the limits and policies set by Council. Progress is monitored through regular evaluation and reporting.
