The Stratford Festival engages Artists under the Stratford Addendum to the Canadian Theatre Agreement — an agreement that modifies the terms and conditions of the CTA to reflect the Festival’s production process and the Artists who are part of it.
The current agreement expires November 30, 2027.
It’s important to take the time to read the Stratford Addendum to the CTA in its entirety to understand everyone’s rights and responsibilities under the agreement.

The Stratford Festival was founded in 1952 by Tom Patterson. Located in Stratford, Ontario, the Festival is North America’s largest classical repertory theatre company. Each season, a dozen or more productions are presented, including classical and contemporary dramas and musicals, with special emphasis on the works of Shakespeare.
Equity’s first collective agreement with the Stratford Festival was negotiated in 1954.
