Announcing updated Artists' Collective Policy and Festival Policy
Equity is pleased to announce the delivery of an updated Artists' Collective Policy and Festival Policy. New material terms for both policies are in effect immediately, to be reviewed as of October 6, 2024.

"These revised policies help clarify how artists can successfully collaborate on projects while affirming the health and safety of the performers working under these terms," says Equity Executive Director, Arden R. Ryshpan.

Updated provisions under the Artists' Collective Policy and Festival Policy include:
  • A requirement to adhere to Equity’s Not in OUR Space! and provide an anti-harassment policy (Festival and ACP)
  • Introduction of language with respect to cultural integrity (Festival and ACP)
  • A requirement for the election of an Equity Deputy/Liaison (Festival and ACP)

  • Clarification of what constitutes revenue and a requirement for participants to agree on both expenses and distribution of revenues (ACP)
  • Advisory for the limiting of work hours and a requirement for participants to agree on a work schedule (ACP)

  • Clarification and inclusion of eligibility requirements (Festival)
  • Consideration for meal breaks and overnight rest periods (Festival)
You may find an updated copy of the Artists' Collective Policy and Festival Policy online and we encourage everyone to read the new policies thoroughly prior to commencing production.
