Hi! My name is Trevor Barrette (he/him) and I am a queer theatre maker, director, stage manager, and performer of French settler descent based in Montreal (Tio’tia:ke/Mooniyang). My work across different roles has given me a strong understanding of what artists need today. I’m passionate about contributing to a thriving, collaborative Canadian theatre community through a holistic approach.

With experience as president of the Montreal English Theatre Awards Committee and vice president of the Quebec Drama Federation, I’m excited to bring my leadership skills to the national level, advocating for the needs and values of my region.

I look forward to diving into conversations about contracts and policies, and learning how theatres operate in different regions. My focus will include advocating for sustainable stage management practices, promoting the work of intimacy directors, and ensuring Quebec artists have a voice in national discussions. Above all, I believe in creating safe, inclusive spaces where every artist can be their authentic self without fear or prejudice.

It would be an honour to represent my region and bring my dedication to our craft to the national stage.
