I have been a member of CAEA since 2020; upon receiving my BFA, I made the decision to hold myself to the professional standards that the Association provides, and joined the Association. I now aim to encourage and support other emerging artists as they navigate the start of their professional careers, while simultaneously supporting long-time Equity members with their thoughts and questions.
As a woman of colour, I am extremely passionate about representation and reflecting the world we live in on our stages. During my time at NYU, I was a leader, and eventually the president of the IBPOC Affinity Group - I know that I am a strong, capable voice of change and advocacy, and I want to bring my EDI experience to the table.
I am a strong ally and advocate for equal opportunity and representation for all marginalized groups in the performing arts industry and everyday life. Artists reflect life and are vessels for change; we deserve protection, fair working environments, security/stability both on and off contract, wages that support us and don’t require us to need a second job (ie. retail/restaurants) during contracts, and a Council who will truly listen and evoke change.
