Hi! I am a stage manager working in live performance, based in Vancouver.
I joined Equity in 1986 as a stage manager at the Arts Club in Vancouver. Soon after, I was elected to the regional Advisory Committee and helped develop the Equity Co-op Policy. I joined the Western Office in 1996 as a Business Rep and staff liaison with the S.M. Committee. In 2006 I returned to stage management.
My career spans roles as festival stage manager for the Talking Stick Festival; many co-op and Fringe productions; SM and ASM at regional theatres and opera companies, and several TYA tours. Along with these experiences, my involvement with Equity has provided insights into our operations and member needs.
I am practical, a problem-solver, and I am convinced that an interest-based approach is essential to collaborative, inclusive workplaces.
My primary goals are to support the specific needs of S.M. members along with those of the general membership. I am particularly interested in supporting senior artists; my work with Vancouver’s Western Gold Theatre has proven that accessibility is for everybody. I am also interested in furthering work-life balance and job-sharing initiatives for stage managers.
