Hello Equity Community,
I would like to thank Tawiah M’Carthy and Virgilia Griffith for nominating me to run for Equity Council.
I’ve had the great opportunity of working within theatre organizations large and small in various capacities over the last 15 years as a professional artist. I have been affected by and witnessed the many ways that Equity has influenced artists’ lives and the work that is created on our stages.
As a Council member, I would be eager to get a deeper look at the inner workings of our association and contribute to its supportive practices. I hope to become more knowledgeable when it comes to Equity’s operations and decision-making procedures, its short and long term goals, as well as engage more fulsomely with our current collective agreement. Most of all, I am excited to listen to and take part in the challenging conversations that concern our members most, especially in this current volatile economic climate.
As a Council member, I will always advocate for transparency, the fostering of equitable discussions, and taking steps towards meaningful change in order to make the work on our stages, and the conditions in which it’s created, better.
